At a press conference on Thursday, October 11, 2007 people gathered to hear MP Rob Moore make an announcement. Mr. Moore informed those gathered that ACOA was supporting the construction of The Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame Museum at a value of $550,000.00. On the part of the Provincial Government, Premier Shawn Graham added the Province was sharing the expense to the value of $250,000.00
The Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame museum will be built on a piece of land owned by the Village of Petitcodiac. This project has been in the making for over three years and was welcome news for all.
Mayor Peter Saunders said that this news was a breath of fresh air for the Village of Petitcodiac which has been hard hit by the closure of Fawcett's Lumber Mill.
Through the winter months the preliminary work will be done in preparation for the sod turning in the spring.

Congratulations to Ernie and Winona..I have known them for more than 40 years and with them involved the museum will be a success, I'm sure.
